Not trying to start a political debate, but I’m curious:
D – why should the government get into business competing against existing corporations? If folks aren’t happy with the CA power companies (and I can understand why) isn’t the answer regulation/etc., as opposed to making the city into a utility company?
R – what’s wrong with letting property owners make more money from their property? If you don’t like it, you’re free to go elsewhere and use other folks’ property. Rent control is a joke. There are billionaires living in rent-controlled apartments, so the present “rent control” system obviously doesn’t work, so punishing landlords doesn’t seem very fair.
Just curious. I’m not in CA any more, so it doesn’t affect me directly and I can’t vote, but I’m just curious why you chose as you did in these cases.
