This is from the February 9, 2004 program. (Commenting on the February 8, 2004 Meet the Press.)
The Shrub was on message, as usual. Jon created a drinking game: a shot of tequila every time the Shrub says "Terror," "Danger," or "Madman."

Posted by: Eschewing Comcast on February 13, 2004 04:30 PMseriously! thanks for posting that. some of us don't have cable, so these moments of humor are much appreciated.
Posted by: lisa b on February 13, 2004 08:48 PMGreat post! That clip was hilarious! I'm going to have to read your site more often to be sure I don't miss those gems. :)
Posted by: Scott Johnson on February 14, 2004 12:24 AMThank you Lisa, Thank you Lisa!
I'm a regular watcher of the Daily Show but I missed this episode and my Tivo didn't grab it for some reason.
The most accurate fake news ever. That itself is a sad statement but true.
Posted by: Ken Purcell on February 14, 2004 07:54 AMI think Kerry babking an intern is more news worthy than boring ol' george. The girl was only 20 years old. Kerry is 60 for goodness sake. He was banging a baby. Isn't Michael Jackson in court for that? But I guess Creepy Kerry can always flee the country and hide in France, like Roman Polanski. So the rumors about Kerry using Botox are true after all. Though looking at the age difference he probably wasn't using Botox to stiffen his forehead.
Disregarding any off-topic trolls (two annoyances for the price of one!), I always enjoy your Daily Show postings, Lisa. I just wish there was a place I could get _all_ the "coverage." Did you see their segment mocking the media's hard-on for complaining about Janet Jackson's superbowl surprise? It was absolutely priceless.
Posted by: nougatmachine on February 15, 2004 08:47 AMI did that exact drinking game for the State of the Union address when it aired, but with beer instead of tequila. We were so drunk by the end.
Posted by: monkey on February 15, 2004 10:19 AMI love the Daly Show and I, too, feel that it is a little sad that we get our most accurate info from a "fake news show"....but I sure am thankful for it. Thanks for sharing.

Posted by: Cowicide on February 16, 2004 12:37 PMThank you for providing the Daily Show take on Russert's attempt to communicate with the "President." This isn't just comic relief, it's relief. As soon as you start thinking, "Am I the only one out here on the fatted plain dumfounded by the dumbfounded?" -- along comes Stewart.
Of course, I substitued herbal essence for the tequila, but still I wonder: How did Russert keep a straight face? Or did he? I'd love to see the outtakes.
Posted by: Comrade g on February 19, 2004 03:34 PMHey great page! Where were you going to post that Meet the Press interview with Dubbya? haha He's such an idiot, I missed it when it came on tv but I've seen clips here and there. I really really wanna see the whole thing. Put it up quick! hehe :D
